Maser Galleries was established in 1970 at the
Seven Springs Mountain Resort, 75 miles east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Founder Ron Maser joined the art business in 1966 as the Pittsburgh
manager of Arts International, a Chicago based gallery created by
the brilliant art dealer, Jack Soloman, to distribute original oil
paintings.
In the early 70’s Maser Galleries was on the ground floor for
the first marketing of the graphic giants: Leroy Neiman, Normal Rockwell,
Erte, and Simbari. Throughout the 70’s Maser Galleries operated
in Seven Springs, Shadyside and downtown Pittsburgh. In the 80’s
Maser Galleries added a publishing division involving two of America’s
greatest illustrators, Robert Peak and Bernie Fuchs. Later local artists
Nat Youngblood, John Shryock, and Tom Mosser joined in the publishing
endeavors.
Presently Maser Galleries boasts the largest inventory of paintings
and limited edition works on canvas and paper in the city. Much of
the art at Maser Galleries is contemporary, but the collection is
eclectic, including sports art, traditional oil paintings, and work
by the finest national and international masters. Visiting Maser Galleries
is an adventure where you can discover everything from etchings by
Rembrant to pop art by Burton Morris. Please visit us at our long
established Walnut Street gallery in Shadyside.
